*eyes calendar* Wait… What?

It’s April.

Already.

Is it just me, or does the time go by faster as you get older? It’s stressing me out a little, to be honest. I’m facing my first deadline, which is months away, but it’s April already and I’m still not done with Prototype.

I expected to be finished weeks ago, because that’s what I do. I write drafts in a handful of weeks. Never mind that once I get going something new and exciting happens with Archetype. Distractions are everywhere I turn.

I’d like to say I’ll be distraction free for a while, but it’s April. You know what happens this month?

Covers for both novels happen this month. Or so I hear. *fingers crossed*

Uh…my official “author photo” happens this month. (Please God let Photoshop be my friend.)

Oh, and because I just signed my contract, so will everyone else this month. That’s big for me. (If you’re keeping track, yes, five months later…the waiting game doesn’t start and end with querying! And yes, the wait is worth every second!!)

That doesn’t sound like a lot, but it may as well make this month look like only a couple days long. Because on top of that, I still have my real life to shuffle: husband, two boys, the day job, planning a charity golf tournament that is only weeks away—kill me now!

And before I know it, it’s going to be Winter 2014 and my novel will be on shelves. I will officially be a published author.

Somebody pinch me.

And while you’re at it…

Somebody write this novel for me. My brain is exhausted.
